Charlotte Pipe and Foundry names Tim Clinkenbeard as Chief HR Officer

Our clients at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company, the nation’s leading manufacturer of cast iron and plastic pipe and fittings for plumbing, recently named Tim Clinkenbeard as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Meet Tim Clinkenbeard, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry’s Chief Human Resources Officer

Tim brings over 20 years of human resources experience to the role, most recently serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

“Over the past several months, I’ve witnessed what a fantastic company Charlotte Pipe and Foundry has built over its 122-year history,” Tim shared with our team. “Working with an organization that prioritizes their people as a strategic differentiator for success is a privilege.”

Stepping into this role in October, Tim will collaborate with Charlotte Pipe and Foundry’s officer group and divisional HR departments. He looks forward to developing a deeper understanding of the company’s role as an industrial manufacturing leader.

“I am so excited about learning about this business from our leadership team and our associates on the front lines,” Tim said. “I will be spending the next weeks and months getting immersed in this fascinating business. There is no better place to learn some of the best practices in this industry than Charlotte Pipe.”

Servant leadership is fundamental for Tim, both personally and professionally. He spoke about how this belief was in alignment with the teams at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, which helped drive his desire to join. Tim coaches people leaders on the value of servant leadership when shaping organizational culture and driving worker engagement.

As a multi-faceted leader, Tim has had the opportunity to influence several parts of the HR organization at companies like Justice (an Ascena Retail company), Sam’s Club, Walmart, and Starbucks. These areas include compensation, benefits, labor relations, people analytics, and HR strategy.

Nexus is grateful for the opportunity to have led the CHRO search for a great American company with deep roots. We’re confident Tim’s expertise and passion for leading people will continue to elevate Charlotte Pipe and Foundry’s success.

“I am appreciative of Nexus’ transparency throughout the search process,” Tim shared about his experience. “Their detailed questions, open dialogue, and comprehensive approach helped me fully understand the impact of this role.”
